Under general supervision, coordinates communication and programming of the corporate community for the purpose of supporting education and workforce development initiatives.  Supports and executes strategies engaging the private sector, the general public and other interested parties in education, workforce attraction, retention and development efforts.

Execute strategies for corporate engagement specifically in school and university-related programs and initiatives (including but not limited to NGL and Mayor's SummerWorks)

  • Work with strategic partners (such as KentuckianaWorks, 55K and others) to develop structures connecting employers to potential employees
  • Lead GLI's effort to be the convener of private business to engage in education, workforce initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with area schools, universities and strategic community partners through outreach strategies
  • Create a College Coalition specifically for the purpose of identifying pathways and developing high demand talent
  • Implement workforce development strategies to help better align supply and demand within key industry clusters by managing a workforce task force or steering committee (yet to be created)
  • Assists in the coordination of relocation assistance services for companies locating to Greater Louisville including welcome-events, introduction and other resources.
  • Serve as a representative and in-house expert on education and workforce and talent issues across the region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in business environment.  A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.

The incumbent must have computer skills.  Experience within the fields of economic development, marketing, workforce development and/or education strongly preferred.
