GLI is looking for a Workforce Success Navigator who under supervision, is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Career Acceleration Network which provides job seekers with pathways of upward mobility between employers. The Workforce Success Navigator is responsible for ensuring quality and consistent participant experiences and maintaining relationships with workforce partner organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  1. Provide leadership and oversight to partner workforce organizations who will assist with recruiting employee participants and offer additional Navigator services.
  2. Convene partner Success Navigators regularly to ensure consistent service delivery across all workforce partners.
  3. Maintain & manage participant data from partner organizations to track employee progress.
  4. Manage a caseload of approximately 75 employee participants, providing supports related to career exploration, barriers to employment and education as these individuals pursue CAN career pathways.
  5. Conduct regular check-ins with stakeholders, employers, participants and partners to monitor participants' progress.
  6. Work with workforce partner organization staff and employers to onboard employee participants from organizations who either do not offer Navigator Services, or whose services currently extend in a limited capacity such as Evolve502 students/JCPS Graduates, small community-based organizations, and incumbent workers coming from springboard employers.
  7. Serve as a liaison between employees, company managers, social service organizations and higher education partners to ensure that participants are connected to resources and key services as needed.
  8. Assist with planning and coordination of career exploration programming as participants progress on their pathways.
  9. Utilize YouScience assessments and data to support participants as they consider opportunities.
  10. Work with the program manager to distribute grants and scholarships as needed from the CAN discretionary fund.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

EFFORT:

This work is performed in a moderately noisy office environment, which can include stressful situations. May be required to drive at night and/or in inclement weather from time to time. Position may require travel as much as 25% of the time.  Currently working remotely due to COVID.

Sitting for long periods of time at a computer. Must be able to see, hear and speak. Movements frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:

Computer, printer/scanner/fax/copier, calculator, telephone, scanner, shredder, van or car

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in education, social service work or community development. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.

Must maintain a valid driver's license.

The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test and must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
