GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, manages general accounting activities to include accounts receivable, financial reporting, accounting reconciliation, accounting analysis, and general accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

1) Provides financial support to department, including participation in development of processes and second review of financial reporting.

2) Process and record receivables, including management of all investment invoices (new and renewals).

3) Manages deferred dues accounting process and reporting.

4) Maintain membership database, including online payments and system improvements.

5) Works with external auditors to provide information and coordinate audit process.

6) Provide A/R and General Ledger technical support to staff and Networks.

7) Manages Monthly Bank Reconciliations

8) Manage Monthly Close processes including GL entries.

9) Prepares Financial Statements and Variance Reports

10) Prepares Interim Reporting requirements for Grants and Government Contracts

11) Develops Budget Timeline, templates and consolidates the budget into the accounting system; supports budget recasting each quarter.

12) Prepare management reports utilizing available software.

13) Provides information for 990s to auditors.

14) Provide backup for Accounts Payable.

15) Reconciles and records Payroll into the accounting system.

16) Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting. Four (4) years of experience in accounting. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.

The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test and maintain the confidentiality of any information they encounter.

All employees of GLI are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Employees who are not vaccinated at the time of hire will be required to show proof of getting their second shot, if receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, within six weeks of hire.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

The incumbent must have computer skills. Experience with the following types of software and/or Windows based applications is preferred: Great Plains, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and email.
